Manchester Airport was rated one of the worst airports in the world, according to a different ranking.
The airport, which ferries almost 27 million passengers annually, was hailed the worst on earth from the Air Assist ranking which looks at 76 airports at quality, punctuality and service worldwide.
London’s Gatwick airport scored much lower than Manchester, also Heathrow was ranked at number 20, involving both San Francisco and Vancouver.
The principal metrics used to speed the airports were their performancesand quality of solutions and also claim processing documents.
The very best airport in the world, according to the ranks, was Singapore’s Changi while the worst was Kuwait.
However, a Manchester Airport spokesperson dismissed the claims, labelling them as ‘flawed’, especially in that just 76 airports around the world were evaluated.
He said: “This PR survey is undependable, using flawed methodology and isn’t a true reflection of our customers’ experience.
“Manchester Airport is signed up to Your Airport Service Quality (ASQ) research which tracks passenger satisfaction, covering areas like customer service, cleanliness and safety. During the last year we’ve seen some of our best dozens and complaints are down year on year.
“Making sure passengers have a good experience as they pass through the airport would be the absolute priority for us and we always examine how we could improve. Our #1bn investment in our heads will see to it that the airport features world class facilities and the best possible experience for our passengers.”
The survey hailed Singapore Airlines as the world’s greatest and rated airlines.
British Airways was rated the greatest and Flybe.
